About Us

Taking a chance at Education

The education sector in Nigeria faces numerous challenges. These range from the high number of out-of-school children to systemic issues like inadequate infrastructure, learning crises, teacher shortages, and funding gaps. In response to these pressing challenges, Teach the Child emerged as a beacon of hope, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our journey began in 2020 amidst nationwide lockdowns that disrupted traditional schooling. Recognizing the urgent need to address the learning crisis impacting marginalized communities, Teach the Child started as an independent initiative.
At the core of Teach the Child’s mission lies a commitment to improving literacy and digital skills among children from low-income households who face barriers to accessing quality education. We utilize innovative educational technologies and initiate community engagement programs. Through these efforts, we strive to bridge the gap between educational privilege and disadvantage, ultimately empowering children to reach their full potential. Teach the Child extends its impact beyond its core mission. It serves as a dynamic platform for youth empowerment and professional development. We offer internships and training programs that equip young individuals with the skills they need to succeed in education, policy influencing, community engagement, and 21st-century teaching methods. As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, Teach the Child remains steadfast in its vision. We envision a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for generations to come, one child at a time.
